Why Reading is one of the most powerful skills for children?
Reading is one of the most powerful skills that need to be mastered. This skill is well known to empower any knowledge and connection between the inside and the outside world.
It gives freedom and opportunities for an individual to find themselves as part of something or to learn from others, or just simply increase the availability of imagination of multiple possibilities.
Reading, it’s known that it should be presented to our younger since they are in the goom. Evidence has shown that a child exposed to reading aloud since their early development period (during pregnancy) by his/her parents presents more attraction to reading, among other benefits. Not many children have that exposure, but never it’s late to start during the earliest years of their lives.
How the reading positively impact children with any disability
Reading skill among children with any disabilities is equally important. Therefore, the exposure should also start when they are in the womb.
If that is not the case, we should start as soon as possible. Each child brings their unique needs in this topic; therefore, reading should be presented to them uniquely, allowing them to be exposed and fall in love with the reading skill.
All Steps Count has a compromised line of thought on this matter. ASC (All Steps Count) did the first step: alliance with the “Read at Loud” initiative.
This is an initiative from Early Learning Coalition. Read 5 minutes to your child every day to connect. ASC has created a “Coaching Reading Model” for our home coaching visit.
This model incorporates all sensory awareness and reading adaptive options to bring the book “Reading” to any child’s needs learning.
